Gavin Newsom recently posted a fabricated medical report on X that lauded President Donald Trump as the “healthiest human currently alive.” The tongue‑in‑cheek document praised his arteries and resting heart rate, claiming his bone density was so impressive it made a radiologist wonder if they’d scanned a redwood, and that brain scans showed only a highly active region linked to intelligence, multitasking and early‑morning productivity.
The press office released the mock study under the signature of “Dr. Doolittle” of the “Department of Peak Excellence.” In it, Newsom jokingly warned that if a side‑by‑side health chart were ever made public, it should be redacted “to preserve the President’s emotional well‑being.”
The prank comes after a memo from Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, who told reporters that the 79‑year‑old president was in “excellent overall health.” Barbabella’s note said that preventative scans of Trump’s heart and abdomen turned out “perfectly normal,” even as the public speculated about the president’s condition. Trump himself said he would share the results of an October MRI from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Trump has been dealing with chronic venous insufficiency and sometimes shows a bruise on his hand that officials attribute to frequent hand‑shaking. The fake report also referenced viral videos that seemed to show Trump nodding off during an Oval Office meeting and swaying while walking.
Newsom, who many expect to announce a 2028 presidential campaign soon, has been positioning himself as a primary critic of Trump and a social‑media agitator who mimics the president’s mannerisms. This latest mock medical bulletin has earned him praise from liberals who want to diminish Trump’s influence ahead of the 2024 midterms, a race that could swing Congress back into Democratic control for the rest of his term.
