According to reports, In‑N‑Out Burger has deleted the number 67 from its ordering charts after the viral “6‑7” meme started throwing its stores into chaos. The West Coast chain scrapped the two‑digit figure after it became a thing for teenagers who would wait in line just to hear it called—an employee at a Los Angeles location confirmed to People.
A clip that circulated on social media showed an In‑N‑Out crew member telling a customer that the restaurant had removed the number to keep pranksters at bay. “We have taken 67 out of our system, so whenever we’re taking orders, it goes 66 to 68,” the worker explained. “Because of people like you.”
The chain has yet to reply to a request for comment from The Post.
The “6‑7” craze began with the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by rapper Skrilla, which repeats the lyric “six‑seven” endlessly. It also taps into NBA guard La Melo Ball’s 6‑ft‑7 frame, but most of its usage comes from teens teasing adults who can’t seem to get the joke.
In 2025, Dictionary.com named the phrase the Word of the Year, citing its sudden popularity on social media and its place in the everyday speech of school‑aged kids. Despite the accolade, the expression has no real definition. Some teachers have even banned it from the classroom after their students kept chanting “Six‑seven! Six‑seven!” for hours.
