“May this sacred festival bring new strength into everyone’s life”: PM Modi extends Navratri greetings

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared warm Navratri greetings with Indians on Monday, hoping the festival brings fresh strength and faith to everyone.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Modi wrote: “Infinite Navratri greetings to all of you. May this sacred festival, filled with devotion, courage, restraint, and determination, bring new strength and new faith into everyone’s life. Jai Mata Di.”
Sharadiya Navratri, a lively Hindu festival, lasts nine nights and honors the power of Goddess Durga, representing divine feminine energy. It falls in the lunar month of Ashwin and features intense worship, detailed rituals, and colorful cultural events that light up communities across India.
Each day focuses on a different form of the goddess, highlighting traits like strength, kindness, and wisdom. Modi noted that Monday belongs to Maa Shailputri, the first form. “Today, during Navratri, is a special day for the worship and rituals of Maa Shailputri,” he added. “My wish is that, with the Mata’s affection and blessings, everyone’s life may be filled with good fortune and good health.”
Over the nine days, devotees fast, belt out devotional songs, and groove to traditional dances like Garba and Dandiya, turning the celebrations into a burst of joy and togetherness.
Later today, Modi heads to Tripura for pooja and darshan at the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple Complex in Matabari, where he’ll also kick off development projects. His trip includes stops in Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura, with plans to lay the foundation stone for several initiatives worth more than Rs 5,100 crore in Itanagar. He’ll wrap up with a public address to connect with locals.
