Kwatra discuss India-US ties with Republican leader from Louisiana Steve Scalise

Indian Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, recently met with Republican Majority Leader Steve Scalise in Washington DC to boost India-US relations. During their talk on Friday, Scalise sent warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kwatra shared on X that the meeting covered exciting progress in economic, defense, and energy sectors, helping to strengthen the strong strategic partnership between India and the US.

Earlier that day, Kwatra spoke at the Quantum World Congress 2025. He gave a keynote address titled “The Quantum Frontier: A Perspective from India,” highlighting India’s quantum technology journey and the huge potential for India-US cooperation in this cutting-edge field. In his X post, he expressed enthusiasm about sharing these insights.

On September 18, Kwatra visited the Pentagon, hosted by Elbridge Colby, the Under Secretary of War for Policy. They had a productive discussion on key defense initiatives. Colby posted on X that he enjoyed the chat and looks forward to ramping up critical defense cooperation with India. Kwatra praised Colby’s deep expertise and steady support for the India-US strategic partnership, noting they reviewed current agendas and outlined next steps.

A few days earlier, on September 16, Kwatra joined anniversary celebrations at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Beltsville, Maryland. He congratulated the temple on 25 years of dedicated service and community contributions, calling it a privilege to attend.
