A newborn boy who was brought to a Manhattan hospital just after midnight last year was declared dead when medical staff found him unconscious and unresponsive. Police and sources said the infant, who had no name at the time, died on November 21, 2024.
After more than a year of investigation, the city’s medical examiner concluded the death was a homicide. The examiner did not disclose the exact cause of death, and no arrest has been made yet.
Authorities said the mother delivered the child in her Hamilton Heights home on West 143rd Street on the same day the baby died. She reportedly took the infant to the hospital around 5 p.m. and called the police upon arrival.
The Department of Health’s Office of the Medical Examiner has not responded to additional inquiries.
