‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ actress Wenne Alton Davis struck, killed by car while crossing NYC street: sources
A 60‑year‑old actress who had a small role on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” was tragically hit by a Cadillac in Midtown earlier this week, police and local sources say.
Wendy Davis—who goes by the stage name Wenne Alton Davis—was walking across Broadway near the West 53rd Street intersection shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday when a driver made a left turn and struck her, according to officials.
The victim, a resident of Forest Hills, Queens, suffered severe head and body injuries. She was transported to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where she later died from her wounds, police confirmed.
The black 2023 Cadillac XT6 involved was driven by a 61‑year‑old man who remained at the scene. By Wednesday, authorities had not filed any charges against him.
On “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Davis played a police officer. Her IMDb page lists nine additional credits, including a role in the 2011 Michael Fassbender drama “Shame” and the 2004 short film “Ladies Room.”
A neighbor, 61‑year‑old Edward Reynoso, told The Daily News that he had a touching exchange with Davis a few hours before she was struck. “I love you, I appreciate you,” he recalled her saying to him. He added that the moment felt oddly like a farewell, and that the tragedy has left him feeling bewildered.
