A 43‑year‑old Illinois woman has been taken into custody after authorities discovered she gave birth to a child she claims was fathered by a 14‑year‑old boy.
Robyn Polston, who once chaperoned a junior‑high dance in Washington, Illinois, was arrested Monday. Police say she faced two counts of criminal sexual assault involving a minor and two counts of possession of child pornography.
Investigators began looking into Polston after a complaint reached the Washington Police Department in January 2025. They obtained the baby’s birth certificate, which matched the middle and last name of the teenager Polston’s daughter had taken to a dance in May 2023. Police later learned the 14‑year‑old, who attended the same dance, was the boy’s name on the documents.
The alleged teen lived in the area for a brief period in 2024 and allegedly exchanged sexually explicit images with Polston. Phone records show they used burner phones under fake names, and prosecutors say Polston tried to pressure him into keeping the situation secret.
A DNA test confirmed the teenager was the child’s father. Polston’s sister and mother have reportedly enabled the relationship, according to prosecutors. She is being held without bail and must appear again in court on December 4. An attorney for Polston has not yet responded to questions.
