Police released their first detailed glimpse of two suspects linked to a violent showdown at an illegal street‑car gathering in Queens. According to NYPD images, the men—both between 18 and 24—were part of a raucous mob that stormed a quiet corner in the Malba neighborhood and assaulted a man and his wife.
One individual could be seen wearing dark jacket and pants; the other was in a dark hat and sweatshirt. After the attack, they fled the scene in a white Chevy Silverado that headed south on the Whitestone Expressway, per police reports.
Footage circulating online shows around a dozen rough‑looking drivers kicking, punching, and stomping on Blake Ferrer after he challenged them for trespassing on his property. They also lashed out at his wife and set fire to a parked private‑security vehicle.
NYPD said they had received several urgent calls on Sunday, which pushed back their response to the chaotic event. Ferrer suffered several broken bones and was rushed to York‑Presbyterian Queens Hospital.
In an interview, he made it clear that he “100%” plans on pressing charges once an arrest is made. “Listen, at the end of the day, all I want is for this never to happen to anybody else again,” he said. “Hopefully, it can deter any group of kids from going into any neighborhood.”
Police officials announced that they will ramp up patrols in the Malba area moving forward.
