Police in Harvard, Illinois, discovered the bodies of a Wisconsin couple inside a car last week, sparking a search for the cause of their deaths. The victims, Rachel Noel Dumovich, 29, and Brandon Peter Dumovich, 30, of Sharon, Wisconsin, were found on October 6 along Route 14.
When a Harvard Police officer pulled over the stopped vehicle, he saw the hazard lights blinking and entered to find both occupants deceased. Each had a single gunshot wound, and a firearm was left at the scene.
Harvard Police Chief Tyson Bauman told Fox News Digital that investigators are still looking into a possible murder‑suicide, but officials have not yet reached a final determination. The McHenry County Coroner’s Office is conducting autopsies and toxicology tests, while the county’s Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT) helps Harvard officers with forensic analysis. Police say there is no current danger to the public.
The Dumoviches had been married for just under a year, celebrating their first wedding anniversary on October 12, 2024. Friends and family described the couple as inseparable. They shared a love of travel, the outdoors, and quiet evenings spent with their two dogs, Dash and Cedar.
Background on the couple: Rachel earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and a career that led her to a human resources manager role at Climate Pros, LLC. Brandon served in the U.S. Navy, achieving the rank of petty officer, and enjoyed activities like remote‑control flying, boating, and fishing.
