NJ twins arrested over threats to ‘shoot ICE on sight,’ kill Kristi Noem’s deputy, DHS says

Two brothers from Absecon, New Jersey, Ricardo Antonio Roman‑Flores and Emilio Roman‑Flores, were taken into custody after a series of social‑media posts that singled out the DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. The tweets urged that the pair “shoot ICE on sight” and even threatened to “torture and kill” the official, echoing older slogans of dissent like “We Americans should find you, tar you, feather you, and hang you as we did to anyone serving tyrants before the Revolutionary War.” Federal authorities say the remarks could be seen as a conspiracy to terrorize and as cyber harassment.

Police seized a couple of firearms from Emilio, including an assault rifle and several ammunition cartons. Emilio faces charges ranging from unlawful possession of an assault weapon and prohibited weapons to conspiracy terroristic threats, criminal coercion, threats, and cyber‑harassment. His twin brother is charged only with conspiracy terroristic threats. Both are being held by the Absecon Police Department.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons issued a warning that anyone who threatens officers can expect full prosecution. “Let this be a warning to anyone who dares threaten or attack our brave law‑enforcement officers,” he stated. “We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law. We are NOT afraid of you.”

According to DHS’s latest fiscal‑year 2025 report, death threats aimed at ICE agents have risen 8,000 percent, a rise that includes the placement of bounties on the officers’ heads, as McLaughlin noted in October.
