A blaze broke out early Sunday morning at a Queens residence on 113‑23 20 2nd Street in St. Albans. The flames gorged through the building, fatally burning a 95‑year‑old resident and putting a 68‑year‑old woman and a 6‑year‑old girl in critical condition.

Emergency crews were on scene within three minutes of the call. The FDNY eventually deployed over sixty firefighters and paramedics, who rescued three people from the house before evacuating everyone to local hospitals. EMTs performed CPR on the child before the fire was fully out.
