Two suspects have been taken into custody and a third is still at large in the case of the early‑morning murder of rising pop star Maria De La Rosa, known to fans as DELAROSA. The singer was inside a parked car in Northridge with friends when three men approached at about 1:25 a.m., demanded money, and suddenly opened up with 9‑mm rounds. Maria was rushed to a local hospital and later pronounced dead; two other people in the vehicle received serious injuries.
The men—Francisco Otilio Gaytan (27), Benny Licon‐Gomez (27) and Eduardo Lopez (21), all from the area—were identified as wearing dark gray hoodies and were flagged by police dispatch as the shooters. Gaytan was arrested the same evening and set on a $2.18 million bail, Licon‑Gomez was detained the next day on a $2.28 million bail, while a warrant is now out for Lopez’s arrest. All three face a felony count of murder and two counts of attempted second‑degree robbery.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman said the attack was “ruthless and targeted,” and vowed to pursue the case aggressively to hold the perpetrators fully accountable. #No Me Llames was one of Maria’s recent releases, marking her brief but impactful rise in the music world.
