Rep. Jasmine Crockett has $3K lien on luxury Dallas condo, ‘continues to fail and refuse’ to pay it off
The Dallas‑area news circuit has turned a spotlight on Representative Jasmine Crockett after a court filing revealed that the Texas Democrat still hasn’t cleared a $3,047.79 claim lodged by the Westside Condominium Association. The lien, dated April 11 2024, bars her from selling the lavish apartment until the dues are paid, as Fox News first reported.
The association’s records indicate that Crockett “continues to fail and refuse” to settle her apartment charges, citing a default on assessments and other related fees. She purchased the unit in 2014, which is also listed on her voter registration.
The gated community where she lives is marketed as a “spa‑like” retreat, complete with a pool and clubhouse, according to a Homes.com listing.
Crockett has been in the House of Representatives since early 2023. Her office has yet to provide a statement in response to this matter. For context, a member of Congress earns a yearly salary of $174,000. In her latest financial disclosure, the House clerk’s office shows her student‑loan debt between $15,001 and $50,000.
The 44‑year‑old congresswoman has been linked to a fresh Senate bid, a possibility she hinted at during a November 23 CNN interview. “I am still thinking about running,” she said. “We did get our polling back, so we’re moving on to the next phase to determine whether or not this would make sense in the moment.” She added, “To be perfectly honest, the only reason that I’m continuing to consider whether or not I do this is because my polling says I can win. That is the bottom line.” Crockett said she would have a decision by Thanksgiving, although the filing deadline for candidacy is Dec. 8.
These developments arrive just weeks after media outlets noted that Crockett spent roughly $75,000 of her campaign funds on upscale lodging and travel across the country—from New York City to Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Martha’s Vineyard, and Chicago. Specific expenses include $5,326.52 at the West Hollywood Edition in Los Angeles, $1,173.92 at Times Square Edition in New York City, and $2,703.14 plus $3,160.93 at the Edgartown Inn and The Coco in Martha’s Vineyard, per Federal Election Commission data. She also withdrew about $50,000 for security services, claiming the funds were necessary due to threats she has reportedly received.
