In Holdrege, Nebraska, police arrested a local high‑school teacher, Elizabeth Jamie Love, and her boyfriend, Jarid “Jack” Krause, after a 16‑year‑old student reported disturbing claims. The student said Love was driving her when Krause called, asking her to meet the teacher for sex. When the teacher told the girl she’d “share” him, the teen declined and left the car.
Court documents say Love later dropped the student off at her house. Krause reportedly led the teen upstairs where he asked her to sleep with him. The student left again, but security footage shows Love pulling her into her car to escort her home. After the incident, Love texted the teen, “come back and talk to me,” and handed her $100 in cash, claiming it was a gift for a new phone. The student says the money was meant as hush money.
Love—who works for the Educational Service Unit‑11 as a speech‑therapist—now faces a sex‑trafficking charge and a separate grooming charge. Krause is also charged with sex trafficking. Both men and the teacher are held on $250,000 bail. A conviction could bring life in prison and a lifetime placement on Nebraska’s sex‑offender registry.
The school district immediately put Love on administrative leave, and the ESU‑11 administrator confirmed full cooperation with investigators. The case has drawn attention to the importance of protecting minors in school settings and shows how quickly allegations can lead to police action.
