Texas A&M cheerleader Brianna Aguilera first appeared beaming in a series of photos with her boyfriend shortly before she was heard arguing with him on the phone and then falling 17 stories from an apartment building. In a Halloween get‑up from last year, the pair posed as Glinda and Prince Fiyero from Wicked, with Brianna wearing a sparkling crown and holding a wand while her 20‑year‑old boyfriend Aldo Sanchez sported a green‑and‑gold jacket. The Daily Mail reported the moment. Throughout the year, the two were consistently shown in close‑knit, affectionate shots, whether hugging at a tailgate or sipping drinks at a Bronx Bombers game in Yankees gear. On August 1, Brianna posted a picture of a lavish bouquet of red and pink roses on a dessert plate, holding a card that read “Will you be my girlfriend?” Their last joint photo was taken on Halloween, less than a month before the young woman’s death. After a Texas A&M vs. UT tailgate, she arrived back at her Austin apartment complex just after 11 p.m. on Nov. 28, and police later said she fell 17 stories, killing herself. Austin Police Detective Robert Marshall explained that Brianna had become intoxicated and was asked to leave the tailgate. She reportedly borrowed a stranger’s phone after losing hers and called her boyfriend from 12:43 a.m. to 12:44 a.m. before a 911 call was made. Witnesses heard her arguing with Aldo on the phone at 12:44 a.m., two minutes before the call. Police arrived a little under two hours later and found Brianna’s body. Investigators discovered a deleted suicide note on her phone and read a series of suicidal texts sent the Friday night before. The 19‑year‑old had also told friends she might be suicidal. Brianna’s mother, Stephanie Rodriguez, rejected the police’s narrative, insisting her daughter was not suicidal. She posted a video of the Thursday press conference on Facebook and wrote, “Please don’t believe this lazy investigator and investigation!” Rodriguez also shared that Brianna’s phone had been on Do Not Disturb the night of her death and was left near a creek at about 6:30 p.m. Friday. The police said they are treating the case as a suicide and will not pursue it as a homicide. Rodriguez has retained Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, who has represented more than 150 alleged victims of Sean “Diddy” Combsto, to further investigate. Buzbee announced on Instagram that his office will hold a press conference in Houston to discuss the case.
