A 19‑year‑old San Antonio resident disappeared early on Christmas Eve, sparking a frantic search that has drawn more than a hundred people to the suburb. Camila Mendoza Olmos was last seen outside her home just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office confirmed later that same day.
According to official statements, Olmos left the house in baby‑blue pajama shorts, a black hoodie and white shoes. Video footage captured her walking outside the driveway and rummaging through her car before the clip cut off. After the video stopped, the teen never returned. Her vehicle was found parked at the front of her property, suggesting she had left on foot and carried only her car keys, and possibly her driver’s license.
Mrs. Rosario Olmos, Camila’s mother, had just gone to bed with her daughter the night before the disappearance. When she woke early, she said she did not see Camila climb out of bed. She stayed asleep for nearly an hour and a half before deciding to make a check‑in. Finding the house empty, she called Camila’s phone, only to discover the device on the bedroom floor was switched off.
Believing her daughter was out on her customary walking routine, Mrs. Olmos scoured the neighborhood but found no sign of her. “I thought I would find her like other times, walking, and we would come home together,” she told KENS5. She then called Camila’s boyfriend and father to see if either had any news, but both said they hadn’t seen or heard from her.
A missing‑persons report was filed with the sheriff’s office, and a CLEAR (Coordinated Law‑Enforcement Adult Rescue) Alert was issued, labeling Camila as “possibly endangered.” The sheriff’s site lists her as missing, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The mother has taken to prayer as her primary response. “I only ask God to please bring her back home,” Mrs. Olmos told KENS5. “Bring her back to me.” “Pray, pray, pray and ask from the heart, to God and the angels, and the Virgin Mary, whoever you believe in, to please for my daughter to return,” she implored.
Friends and family of the 19‑year‑old expressed disbelief that the disappearance could be an accident, noting that Camila was “very regular about her walks” and always stayed in touch. Camila Estrella, a friend, said the teen would “always make sure that her phone’s always charged.” “It’s been very out of the normal,” said Isabela, another friend.
Since Christmas Eve, search parties have been organized by relatives and friends. Over 100 people have turned up, including family members who had to travel 17 hours to reach San Antonio. Despite days of foot‑searches within a three‑mile radius, the results have been empty. Camila’s brother, Carlos Mendoza, flew in upon hearing the news. “We’ve been searching on foot within a three‑mile radius,” he said, “I want her to come back.”
The daughter’s father, Alfonso Mendoza, remains hopeful but is visibly distressed. “Please come home,” he said to reporters. “Daddy’s missing you.”
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office continues to urge anyone with information to contact them. At the moment, the town of San Antonio sits on edge, hoping and praying for the safe return of their missing teen.
