Trump blames ‘radical Left’ after Charlie Kirk’s murder

US President Donald Trump shared a heartfelt video message on Truth Social after the tragic shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The 31-year-old influencer, known for his work with Turning Point USA, was killed during a campus event in Utah, leaving fans and supporters in shock.

The incident happened around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday at Utah Valley University in Orem. Kirk was speaking at a student Q&A session when the shooting took place, as confirmed by university officials. Details about the shooter and motive are still emerging, but the news has sparked widespread grief and calls for justice.

In his emotional address, Trump expressed deep sorrow over what he called the “heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk.” He pointed fingers at the “radical left,” accusing them of fueling the violence through harsh rhetoric. “They’ve compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis and the world’s worst mass murderers,” Trump said, warning that such words lead straight to tragedy.

Trump remembered Kirk as a true patriot who dedicated his life to sparking open debates and getting young people excited about politics. “He fought for liberty, democracy, justice, and the American people,” the president said. He praised Kirk’s faith, adding, “We take comfort knowing he’s now at peace with God in heaven.” Kirk, a man of strong beliefs, leaves behind his wife Erika and two young children, whom Trump called his greatest love.

“Our prayers are with his family in this dark moment for America,” Trump continued, vowing to hold everyone accountable—from the attackers to the groups funding political violence. He highlighted Kirk’s talent for defending his views with “courage, logic, humor, and grace,” and stressed how Kirk inspired youth like no one else.

The president linked the shooting to a pattern of “radical left political violence,” mentioning the recent assassination attempt on himself in Pennsylvania and attacks on ICE agents. “This kind of terrorism must stop right now,” he urged, promising his administration would track down those responsible and protect judges, law enforcement, and others keeping the country safe.

Trump hailed Kirk as “the best of America,” saying the attack was really an assault on the nation. But he insisted the killer failed: “An assassin tried to silence him with a bullet, but together we’ll make sure his voice, message, and legacy live on for generations.” In a powerful close, Trump noted that Kirk’s death has only amplified his impact—”Charlie’s voice has become bigger than ever before.”

As investigations into the Charlie Kirk shooting continue, the story has dominated headlines, with many searching for updates on the Utah campus tragedy and its political fallout.
