Trump claims National Guard shooting suspect ‘went cuckoo,’ calls reporter ‘a stupid person’
During a sharp interview with a reporter, President Trump accused the Afghan suspect linked to the shooting of two National Guard troops of “went cuckoo,” adding that the individual “went nuts” and that such instability is all too common “with these people.” He blamed the Biden administration’s lack of rigorous vetting for allowing the man into the United States, stating that the suspect had entered under President Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome” program in 2021.
The reporter had pointed out Rahmanullah Lakanwal’s CIA ties, to which Trump fired back, asking, “Are you a stupid person?” and accusing the journalist of questioning “you’re a stupid person.” The president went on to remark that there are many others in the country who need to be removed and said, “We’re going to get them out.”
