Trump rails against ‘the many Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein’ in latest Christmas message

President Trump posted a Christmas message on Truth Social this week, greeting “Sleazebags who loved Jeffrey Epstein” with holiday cheer. In the post he suggested that a forthcoming set of documents related to the former financier’s case would expose a group of Democrats who, according to him, once supported or benefited from Epstein’s circle.

The former president said that those who have publicly distanced themselves from Epstein after the 2019 death of the alleged pedophile “falsely claimed nothing to do with him, didn’t know him, or called him disgusting.”

Trump added that he was the only one who “dropped” Epstein, long before it became a common phrase for the political class to abandon controversial figures.

Trump has a history of closeness with Epstein, dating back to the 1990s. The relationship supposedly ended over a 2004 bidding dispute involving a Palm Beach mansion that has since been demolished.

The former president also claims he barred the disgraced financier from Mar‑a‑Lago after Epstein ignored warnings about recruiting spa workers without permission.

The public release of federal documents on the Epstein case traces back to a law signed by Trump in December. Senators and representatives, including Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ro Khanna of California, had sponsored the bill that required the Justice Department to make the files available by December 19. The Department said it may need a few more weeks to fully comply.

So far, the documents that have surfaced feature a mix of photographs and emails. Among them is a photo of former President Bill Clinton in a hot tub with a woman whose face was redacted, a picture that has drawn particular attention.

An email from a federal prosecutor in 2020 also indicates that Trump boarded Epstein’s private jet at least eight times during the 1990s. No evidence has emerged that Trump was aware of Epstein’s sex‑trafficking crimes while the two were friends, and no wrongdoing has been linked to the former president.

Trump’s post also contains references to broader political attacks. He warned that when the names in the new files—he claims to be largely “Democrats”—come to light, there will be a need for explanations, citing past controversies such as the “Russia‑Russia‑Russia” report and criticism of the New York Times. He concluded the note with a “Merry Christmas” wish, calling the current political climate “corrupt Democrat politics.”

The justice documents will continue to be released in stages, and the public’s interest in the Epstein case remains high as more items potentially shed light on a decades‑long network of powerful figures.
