A tragic shooting rocked the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday, claiming one life and injuring several others during what should have been a joyful wedding celebration. Local officials shared the heartbreaking details in a late-night press briefing, leaving the close-knit community near the Massachusetts border reeling from the violence.

New Hampshire Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley explained that some victims suffered gunshot wounds, while others got hurt in the panic that followed. The exact number of injuries remains unclear, but the incident unfolded amid events at the private golf club, a popular spot for weddings and large gatherings just 45 minutes from Boston.

Police quickly shifted their focus after surveillance video revealed a single suspected shooter, scrapping earlier reports of two people involved. No arrests have happened yet, though authorities detained one person of interest for questioning. The New Hampshire State Police jumped in to help with the ongoing Nashua shooting investigation, and they’ve set up the nearby Sheraton Nashua hotel—about a mile from the scene—as a gathering spot for families of those affected.

For now, officials urge everyone to steer clear of the Sky Meadow Country Club area while they work to piece together what led to this senseless act. Nashua police and first responders acted fast to secure the site and support those hit hardest by the New Hampshire shooting.

Lawmakers didn’t hold back in showing their support. U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen posted on social media, “Billy and I are praying for those injured. There is no place in our state for this type of senseless violence.” Representative Maggie Goodlander echoed the sentiment, saying, “My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire Nashua community as we await more information.” Senator Maggie Hassan added, “My heart goes out to the families of those impacted, and I’m grateful for the work of the law enforcement officers and first responders at the scene.”

As the probe into the Sky Meadow Country Club shooting continues, the community grapples with the shock of violence striking such a beloved venue known for its scenic golf course and happy occasions. More updates are expected as authorities dig deeper.
