Bomb threat triggers panic at Delhi High Court

Chaos at Delhi High Court: Bomb Threat Email Sparks Massive Evacuation

A shocking bomb threat email sent to the Delhi High Court caused a huge panic on Friday, forcing everyone out of the building and halting all court work. The scare hit New Delhi’s key judicial hub, leaving lawyers, visitors, and staff rushing for safety.

The threat arrived via email, warning of three bombs planted in the judge’s room and court premises. It demanded evacuation by 2 pm, with a bizarre subject line: "Pakistan Tamil Nadu collude for Holy Friday blasts." The email, from the address kanimozhi.thevidiya@outlook.com, even claimed ISIS involvement and ties to Pakistan, along with wild threats about explosions after midday prayers. Delhi Police sources confirmed the email targeted court staff and mentioned assets "sown" since 2017 for this "Holy Friday" attack.

As soon as the alert spread, all court benches stopped sessions right away. Security teams from Delhi Police and bomb disposal squads jumped into action, sealing off the area. They brought in sniffer dogs for a full sweep, while fire trucks and ambulances stood ready just in case. The rush to evacuate turned the court complex into a scene of confusion, with people scrambling to get out.

Sacchin Puri, Vice President of the Delhi High Court Bar Association, told reporters: "We’re fully cooperating with security forces. As a precaution, we’ve asked all lawyers to leave the premises, and all benches have risen."

Senior Advocate Pramod Kumar Dubey shared more details: "A threat email is going around, claiming the sender is from ISIS. The message is a bit unclear, but police and the bomb squad are already here."

Another lawyer at the scene said: "Security officials told us to vacate immediately. Court proceedings are completely stopped."

So far, searches haven’t turned up any suspicious items—no bombs found yet. But Delhi Police are digging deep into the investigation to track the email’s source and catch those responsible for this Delhi High Court bomb threat. Authorities urge everyone to stay calm as they handle the situation. We’ll keep you updated on any new developments in this ongoing security alert.
