Delhi Police Busts Arms Smuggling Ring in Big Operation

In a major crackdown on illegal arms trade, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has smashed a smuggling network operating in the city. They arrested one key supplier and three buyers during a raid in the Netaji Subhash Place area. The team seized 15 pistols, eight extra magazines, and 150 live rounds, officials revealed on Sunday.

The action kicked off after a secret tip-off about Mohammad Sajid, a well-known arms supplier, planning to deliver a big batch of weapons in Pitampura. Crime Branch officers tracked Sajid’s car and nabbed him right there, recovering the hidden cache of illegal firearms.

DCP Crime Harsh Indora shared details with , saying, "We got intel that Sajid was heading into Delhi with a huge stock of weapons to distribute among criminals. He’s been in this racket for years, sourcing pistols from Meerut for Rs 30,000-35,000 and selling them to Delhi gangs for Rs 50,000-55,000. We arrested Sajid and caught him red-handed. So far, we’ve recovered 15 sophisticated pistols, eight magazines, and 150 rounds."

Interrogation showed Sajid supplied arms to Sunny Jaswant, a member of the notorious Neeraj Bawana gang. Other criminals in Delhi also bought from him, fueling gang violence. One of the arrested buyers even posted pictures and videos of the weapons on social media, treating it like a hobby—something the police found shocking.

All three arrested buyers have prior criminal records, and police have slapped charges under the Arms Act. The Crime Branch is now digging deeper to hunt down the rest of the arms smuggling network and prevent more illegal weapons from hitting Delhi’s streets.

This bust highlights Delhi Police’s ongoing fight against arms smuggling and gang activities, making the city safer one raid at a time.
