Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta kicked off a new flyover at Nand Nagri on Sunday, celebrating a project that had dragged on for years but got finished fast under her watch.
Talking to reporters, Gupta shared that her government jumped on the long-delayed work right after taking office. “We wrapped it up in no time, and now it’s ready for everyone at a cost of Rs. 180 crore,” she said. The flyover aims to ease traffic headaches in the bustling area.
Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma echoed the excitement, telling that the government is all in on boosting connectivity across the Yamuna region. “We’ll build every flyover and road needed to smooth out traffic flow—no budget worries holding us back,” Verma added.
Just days earlier, on Thursday, Gupta flagged off a special CATS ambulance to ramp up public health services. This came as part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada drive. The Delhi government handed over 11 high-tech CATS ambulances packed with top-notch medical gear to help city residents.
Gupta told the media they’re not stopping there. “We’ve rolled out new health perks through the Health Ministry. Under Seva Pakhwada, these 11 ambulances will make a real difference. And by October, we’ll add 53 more,” she announced.
She’s also backing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s push to wipe out tuberculosis in India. The government supplied advanced machines to Delhi hospitals to fight TB. Plus, they just launched an online organ donation portal to make donating easier and faster.
“We need to end TB nationwide—for the PM’s mission, we’ve equipped hospitals with key tools. And today, our online organ donation portal goes live,” Gupta said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party started this two-week Seva Pakhwada on PM Modi’s birthday. It wraps up on October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, with a focus on community service across Delhi.
