In the heart of Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, top leaders including BJP national president JP Nadda, Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva, and Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma joined lively Ramleela celebrations organized by Shri Dharmic Leela. The event drew crowds eager to enjoy the traditional retelling of Lord Rama’s story during the festive season.
Parvesh Verma took the stage to urge Delhi residents to stay safe and responsible amid the excitement. “It’s festival time, folks—when you head to Ramleela events, keep an eye on your surroundings for security and make sure everyone gets along,” he told reporters, emphasizing harmony during these vibrant gatherings.
Shifting to another part of the city, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta served as chief guest on the fifth day of Ramleela hosted by Sanatan Sanskarm in Sector 23 of the Bawana area in Rohini. She spent time chatting with differently-abled children at the event, praising their enthusiasm and involvement in the cultural festivities.
Just earlier this week, CM Gupta shared good news for festival-goers: She announced that loudspeakers for Ramleela, Durga Puja, and other religious events in Delhi can now run until midnight, up from the old 10 PM cutoff. “This change lets Hindu festivals in Delhi flow freely, just like in other states,” she explained, aiming to boost the joyful spirit without interruptions.
Across India, the nine-day Navratri festival honoring Goddess Durga’s nine forms is in full swing. Devotees fast, pray, and dance to Garba and Dandiya rhythms, filling neighborhoods with color, music, and community vibes.
