Mauritius official praises ED for training their officials on combating while collar crimes

India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) is earning high marks from Mauritius’ Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) for its hands-on training on tackling money laundering and recovering assets. An ED official shared the news on Friday, highlighting a fresh letter of thanks from the Mauritian side.

In a post on social media platform X, the ED quoted T. Dawoodarry, Acting Director-General of the FCC, who praised a specialized training program held from September 22 to 26, 2025, at FCC headquarters in Moka, Mauritius. “This bespoke training for sixty-four participants was delivered with exceptional professionalism,” Dawoodarry wrote in his October 2 letter to ED Director Rahul Navin. He spotlighted the top-notch curriculum and the expert team from India that led the sessions.

The program boosted the skills of FCC officers in investigating white-collar crimes, including key techniques for money laundering probes, forensic analysis, and navigating risks with cryptocurrency. Participants dove into practical discussions, hands-on exercises, and strategies for tracing and seizing assets effectively.

Dawoodarry didn’t hold back on his appreciation. “We’re especially grateful to the resource persons from the ED for their professionalism, expertise, and dedication,” he noted. He also pushed for deeper ties, suggesting regular virtual meetings between ED pros and FCC teams to share knowledge and tips on asset recovery. Plus, he proposed sending experienced ED experts to Mauritius under India’s ITEC program for more in-person guidance on streamlining investigations.

The ED responded warmly on X, thanking Dawoodarry and committing to ramp up bilateral cooperation against money laundering and stronger asset recovery efforts worldwide. This collaboration underscores growing international teamwork in fighting financial crimes across borders.
