13 Years of BJP-Congress alliance have drowned Goa in corruption, “Gundagardi”: Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), kicked off a three-day trip to Goa on Friday. He slammed the BJP-Congress alliance government that’s ruled the state for 13 years, calling it a time of suffocating corruption and thuggery.
Kejriwal plans to meet AAP leaders and volunteers in Goa. His goal? To fire them up for the party’s campaign against what he describes as the alliance’s “gundaraj” – a mix of violence and misuse of power. This push aims to speak out for everyday Goans hit hard by these issues.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kejriwal laid out the problems he’s targeting. He pointed to massive illegal construction and mining, rampant corruption, violence, crumbling law and order, high crime rates, pothole-filled roads, crimes against women, frequent power outages, soaring unemployment, a drop in tourism, and even attacks on Goan culture.
“The average Goan lives in constant fear,” Kejriwal wrote. “Anyone who speaks up against the government faces threats or attacks. Their daily life feels like torture.”
He praised AAP’s local leaders and volunteers for boldly challenging the BJP-Congress “gundaraj.” “I’m heading to Goa for three days to connect with our team and boost their efforts,” Kejriwal added.
This visit comes after AAP made a key change in its Goa leadership. The party named former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi as the new in-charge (prabhari) for the state. She steps in because the previous in-charge, Pankaj Gupta, is sidelined by illness.
AAP announced the move on X, wishing Atishi well in her new role. As Goa gears up for political shifts, Kejriwal’s trip highlights AAP’s growing focus on fighting corruption, boosting jobs, and reviving tourism in the coastal state.
