Sachin Pilot, the Congress leader from Rajasthan, said he’s confident the Bihar elections will bring fresh faces and better governance. In a brief chat with , Pilot said voters are tired of joblessness and poverty and are ready for change. “The public has made up their mind. Our alliance will win by a wide margin,” he added. He promised the Mahagathbandhan—Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress, Vikassheel Insaan Party, and several left groups—will announce their seat‑sharing plan in a day or two.
The Mahagathbandhan faces the National Democratic Alliance, made up of the BJP, JD(U), LJP, HAM, and others. Bihar’s 243 assembly seats will be contested in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with counting on November 14, according to the Election Commission. The voter roll now lists 7.42 crore residents, after a purge that removed 65 lakh names from the draft.
Pilot also criticized Rajasthan’s state government over a tragic tanker accident in Dudu. A parked truck loaded with gas cylinders collided with a chemical tanker on the Jaipur‑Ajmer highway, killing one person and sparking a fire that consumed three vehicles. “These accidents keep happening because the state government doesn’t pay enough attention,” Pilot said, calling out the government’s focus on power rather than public safety. Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the incident and the loss of life.
