New Delhi, Oct. 12 – OLED displays in notebooks are set to gain even more ground in 2026, as companies cut costs and launch new premium models, says a fresh Counterpoint Research report.

Apple’s recent launch of OLED‑based MacBook Pro laptops is a major spark for this shift, pushing the market toward higher‑performance, energy‑efficient screens. The study projects OLED panel shipments to jump 9 % year‑on‑year in 2025, and then surge by 30 % in 2026.

Looking at the wider notebook display market, global shipments are forecast to rise 4 % in 2025. This growth comes from a mix of enterprise upgrades, AI‑driven software, and a wave of new product launches. Counterpoint calls advanced panels—OLED and MiniLED technologies together—expected to grow 9 % in 2025 and make up 8 % of all notebook PC shipments that year.

“Brand leaders are poised to perform strongly through 2025,” says David Naranjo, Associate Director at Counterpoint Research. “Enterprise refresh cycles, software upgrades and AI enablement keep demand hot.” He adds that advanced panel orders should rise 9 % in 2025, showing another solid growth year for the segment.

Quarterly data reinforces the trend. In Q2 2025, the overall notebook display market expanded 8 % year‑on‑year, following a 15 % rise in Q1. The uptick reflects new shipments as firms brace for possible tariff changes.

The full‑year outlook was tightened, now suggesting a 4 % growth for 2025, up from the prior 1 % estimate. The revised forecast takes into account a strong first half that managed macroeconomic challenges and tariff uncertainties.

In short, OLED notebook PCs are on a clear growth path, driven by Apple’s new MacBook Pro line, rising enterprise demand, and the broader push toward smarter, brighter displays. Counterpoint’s research signals that 2025 and especially 2026 will be pivotal years for the OLED display market and the notebook industry as a whole.
