Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal kicked off India’s new logistics award, LEAPS 2025, on Monday. The launch happened at the 4th‑anniversary ceremony of President‑In‑Office GatiShakti, the flagship freight‑movement masterplan.
LEAPS stands for Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield. It is run by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and ties directly to the National Logistics Policy of 2022 and the broader GatiShakti vision. The program aims to benchmark the best logistics companies, boost India’s global competitiveness, and push the country toward a greener, more efficient supply chain.
What the award does
- Recognises top performers across all modes of transport—air, road, sea, and rail freight—plus multimodal operators, warehouse owners, and even agricultural storage providers.
- Welcomes startups, MSMEs, and academic institutions that are innovating in logistics technology and operations.
- Emphasises sustainability, ESG (environment, social, governance) standards, and Green Logistics practices, urging the public and private sectors to collaborate for a more resilient network.
How to apply
Registrations are live on the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal. Submit your entry by November 15. LEAPS 2025 covers 13 categories, so whether you run a freight company, a warehousing service, a logistics‑tech startup, or a university that teaches supply‑chain courses, you can be in the running.
Why it matters
Lewdesignates those who move goods faster, cheaper, and cleaner. By rewarding innovation and excellence, the scheme will help India strengthen its Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat ambitions while moving toward a Viksit Bharat future by 2047. It’s a clear sign that the government wants India’s logistics sector to be world‑class and sustainably led.
