Rajkummar Rao dedicates his Filmfare win to his soon-to-be-born baby

At the 2025 Filmfare Awards in Ahmedabad, Bollywood star Rajkummar Rao had a touching moment that fans will remember for a long time. While accepting the Best Actor – Critics award for his film Srikanth, he announced that he and his wife are expecting their first child. The actor thanked the film’s team, grateful fans and, most importantly, his soon‑to‑come baby.

Rajkummar said, “Thank you to Filmfare, my director Tushar, producers Nidhi and Bhushan, and the people whose life inspired Srikanth. It means a lot that the movie did well in theatres.” He then turned to his wife, actress Patralekhaa, and added, “I’m so glad to share this news. Our baby is on the way, and this award is for him.”

After the ceremony, Rajkummar posted a video clip on social media. He thanked the film crew again, praised the original Shrikant’s story, and said he felt “magical” after hearing praise from Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan. He also thanked his fans for supporting Srikanth, promising to keep delivering quality performances.

The night also saw other big names on the win list. Abhishek Bachchan and Kartik Aaryan shared the Best Actor – Male title for “I Want To Talk” and “Chandu Champion,” respectively, while Alia Bhatt won Best Actress for “Jigra.” Honorable mentions went to Pratibha Ranta, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan.

Rajkummar Rao’s emotional speech reminded everyone that the Filmfare Awards are more than just trophies—they’re moments of personal joy, family love, and creative celebration. The film industry watched as the star looked forward to a new chapter in both his career and his life.
