Moscow, Nov 28 (LatestNewsX) – President Vladimir Putin said that the U.S. list of 28 points concerning Ukraine could serve as a foundation for future agreements.
In Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian leader said it would be “impolite of me to talk about any final options now, since there are none. But some things are fundamental.” He added that the U.S. side had, in certain respects, taken Russia’s position into account—something that was discussed both before and after the August meeting between him and President Donald Trump in Alaska, according to Xinhua.
“We definitely need to sit down and seriously discuss some specific things,” Putin emphasized. “We have to frame everything in diplomatic language because simply saying Russia doesn’t plan to attack Europe sounds absurd. We never intended to do that in the first place,” he explained.
Putin also confirmed that the 28‑point peace proposal had been transmitted to Moscow through the proper channels and that Russian officials had reviewed it. The plan was released last week, after which U.S., Ukrainian, and several European representatives convened in Geneva to weigh in. During those talks the proposal was pared down to 19 points, though that adjusted version remains undisclosed, marking a new development in the diplomatic effort to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
