Air India Launches Special Flights to Kathmandu Amid Nepal Unrest

Air India is stepping up to help stranded passengers with special flights from Delhi to Kathmandu on Wednesday and Thursday. This comes after major disruptions in Nepal due to ongoing protests and airport closures.

The airline shared the update in a statement late Tuesday evening. "Our regular flights will resume from tomorrow," they said. Earlier in the day, Air India had canceled all Delhi-Kathmandu flights for Wednesday because the airport stayed shut. Now, with special operations in place, travelers can finally head back home.

The chaos in Nepal started escalating after tragic police firing killed 19 people, including school kids, and injured over 200 others. Gen-Z-led protests have pushed the country into deeper turmoil, forcing airlines like Air India and IndiGo to halt services. Both carriers canceled flights on Tuesday, putting passenger safety first.

An Air India spokesperson emphasized, "We’re watching the situation closely and prioritizing the safety of our passengers and crew." IndiGo echoed this, saying they’re working with local authorities to get things back on track soon.

Air India thanked the government and agencies for their quick help in arranging these special flights. If you’re affected, check your flight status right away on the Air India website. Head to airindia.com flight status before rushing to the airport. For more help, call their 24/7 helpline at 011-69329333 or 011-69329999.

Stay tuned for updates as Nepal flight cancellations ease and normal services resume. Air India and IndiGo are doing all they can to support travelers during this Nepal crisis.
