Chennai, Oct 16 – Actor Harish Kalyan is thrilled about his new thriller “Diesel”, which is set to hit screens on the upcoming Diwali (Deepavali) weekend. The film, written and directed by Shanmugam Muthusamy, promises a deep dive into the world behind petrol and diesel – the “black gold” that powers everyday life.
Why Harish is excited
“I was awestruck by the director’s research and the level of detail in the script,” Harish says.
“The depth of the story left me spellbound, and I’m sure audiences will feel the same.”
He adds that the movie will explore the lives that depend on crude oil and show the hidden side of the fuel people use every day. “Diesel will give global audiences a brand‑new experience,” he says. “It’s meaningful, purposeful, and shot on a grand scale.”
A bold, big‑budget project
For Harish, “Diesel” is the most ambitious role of his career so far. The film blends intense action, dramatic songs and high‑energy dialogue, all filmed in some of Chennai’s busiest locations. “It was physically and mentally demanding,” he notes, “but the fulfillment at the end is worth it.”
He believes that a strong performance in a Diwali action film could open up more opportunities in the genre. “Deepavali has always been a special time for me,” he says. “Watching big releases during this season is a tradition. Now, my own film is part of the celebration – a dream come true.”
