Engineering exports to grow further with bigger goals, greater strength: Piyush Goyal

India’s Engineering Exports Soar to $116 Billion: Piyush Goyal Shares Vision for Growth
New Delhi, Sep 8: India’s engineering exports have come a long way, jumping from just $10 million in 1995 to a whopping $116 billion today. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal shared this exciting update at an EEPC India event, stressing that the engineering sector will keep expanding with even bigger ambitions and stronger momentum.
Goyal highlighted how India’s trade and the MSME sector form the backbone of the nation’s businesses. He confidently said the country has the power to tackle any crisis head-on. "I have full faith that India, guided by the ‘Zero Defect, Zero Effect’ motto, will grow even bigger," he added.
The minister urged everyone to focus on producing top-quality ‘Made in India’ products that shine on the global stage. "The world now sees India as a reliable partner, and we must hold onto that trust," Goyal emphasized. This push for quality in engineering exports and manufacturing is key to boosting India’s global presence.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has transformed from one of the ‘fragile five’ economies to a top-five powerhouse. Goyal pointed out that India has been the world’s fastest-growing major economy for the past four years. In the latest quarter, the country clocked an impressive 7.8% GDP growth – a record that stands out globally.
Goyal credited PM Modi’s smart moves, like GST rate cuts and simplifications, for firing up domestic demand. "These steps are supercharging our economy," he said. He also promised new job opportunities and rising incomes for people across the board.
When infrastructure spending ramps up alongside strong consumer demand, Goyal believes nothing can stop India from emerging as a global superpower. He stressed the need for equitable growth, ensuring that benefits from GST reductions reach everyday consumers. "This way, growth touches every Indian and builds a solid economic foundation," he noted.
Finally, Goyal called for unity, saying when India acts like one big family supporting all sectors, inclusive growth will happen naturally. He expressed strong confidence that the country can set an example worldwide for sustainable and inclusive development. With such optimism, India’s economic future looks brighter than ever!
