Delhi buzzed with excitement this Navratri as the city hosted its first Global Garba Festival at the stunning Sunder Nursery. Leaders from major political parties, diplomats, foreign ambassadors, and culture lovers all came together to celebrate Indian traditions through music, dance, and lively Garba performances.
Union Minister Ramdas Athawale joined the fun on Friday and couldn’t stop praising the event. “For the first time, this Garba event is happening in Delhi,” he told . “Many ambassadors from different countries showed up too. It’s a fantastic program right here in the capital.”
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj also danced into the spotlight, highlighting the festival’s vibrant spirit. “You’ll see all the colors of India in Delhi,” she said. “I’m so blessed to be here today, with so many young people joining in.”
Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra pointed out the event’s worldwide draw. “Ambassadors from 40 countries took part in the Global Garba at Sunder Nursery,” he shared. “Delhi Tourism is partnering with us, and the government is backing big-scale programs like this to promote cultural exchange.”
Yulia Aryaeva, the cultural counselor at the Russian Embassy in India, brought festive cheers. “Happy Navratri to our Indian friends from the Russian Embassy,” she said. “We feel great celebrating with everyone.”
The festival spotlights Indian music, dance, and culture while inviting global participants to join the joy, making it a true bridge between nations.
Shifting to another highlight, Bansuri Swaraj stepped up for a Dandiya dance on Thursday at a Ramleela event in Rohini Sector 23, Bawana constituency. Organized for the first time by the Sanatan Sanskaram group, it pulled in huge crowds over the past few days.
Swaraj stressed how these Navratri celebrations keep Indian traditions alive. “Events like this connect the younger generation to our rich cultural and religious heritage,” she explained.
Delhi Cabinet Minister Ravindra Singh Indraj played a key role in pulling it off. On the fourth day of Ramleela, Swaraj shared the stage with Indraj’s wife and other women, grooving to Dandiya with the enthusiastic audience. The crowd gave her a huge welcome, with thousands lighting up mobile phone torches.
Olympic stars and wrestlers Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Punia added star power by joining in and chatting with fans and media. The day kicked off with a lively Ram Baraat procession that led straight into the Dandiya night.
From the stage, Swaraj thanked Delhi residents for their support. “After 27 years, Delhi chose a BJP government again,” she said. “With the double-engine setup at the center and in Delhi, we’re seeing historic growth.”
She also gave a shoutout to the Sanatan Sanskaram team for their spot-on Ramleela. “It’s an amazing platform that spreads values, traditions, and gets the youth involved in community vibes.”
Even as the group’s first Ramleela, it drew an overwhelming response, showing just how much people love these religious and cultural festivities during Navratri season.
