“Is there little humanity left in you?” AAP Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj slams centre over India-Pakistan match

AAP Leader Slams Centre Over India-Pakistan Asia Cup Match in Dubai

In a fiery outburst, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi President Saurabh Bhardwaj has hit out at the central government for allowing the India-Pakistan Asia Cup cricket match to go ahead. Speaking in Chandigarh on Sunday, Bhardwaj questioned if the government still has "any humanity left" amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan.

Bhardwaj pointed to recent terrorist attacks linked to Pakistan, saying, "Just a while ago, Pakistani terrorists killed husbands of innocent women, and the whole country wept with them. The government even named an operation ‘Operation Sindoor’ to fight back, claiming it’s still ongoing. But now, you’ve run off to Dubai to play a match against the same Pakistan? Is there even a shred of humanity in you?" He added that people across India are opposing the India vs Pakistan clash, and AAP plans to take action in Delhi.

The AAP leader announced a boycott of any venue screening the match. "In Delhi, we’ll boycott all restaurants, bars, and nightclubs that broadcast the Asia Cup game. We’ll urge people not to visit these places. Such businesses have no right to operate if they support this," Bhardwaj declared.

On the other hand, former Uttar Pradesh Minister and BJP leader Mohsin Raza defended the match, calling it a chance to thrash Pakistan on the field. "India has always stood against Pakistan’s dirty tricks and terrorism, and we do so today too," Raza said. "But this Asia Cup fixture is organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), where teams from across Asia compete. As ACC members, we’re part of it. If our game is against Pakistan, it’s just another shot at ‘Operation Sindoor’—we’ll defeat them today, hoist our victory flag, and prove we’re ready to win on any ground. This isn’t a bilateral series; it’s a multi-nation tournament."

The high-stakes India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 match is set for Monday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, as India’s second Group A game. Both teams enter on a high after strong wins in their openers—India beat Nepal, while Pakistan thrashed Bangladesh.

Tensions ran high before the game, with opposition parties demanding a boycott of the India vs Pakistan cricket encounter due to cross-border issues. However, the central government gave the green light, stating no objections to the Indian team playing Pakistan in multi-nation events like the Asia Cup.

Cricket fans are buzzing about this classic rivalry, but the political row adds extra spice to the Asia Cup showdown in Dubai. Stay tuned for live updates on the India Pakistan match!
