Bengaluru, Nov 5 – The Nasscom Foundation has teamed up with the ONDC Network to bring 200 women‑led businesses from Karnataka onto India’s biggest online shopping platform. The partnership gives female entrepreneurs a new way to sell their products nationwide, boosting income and placing them in a competitive marketplace.

Under the deal, the Nasscom Foundation helped each business sign up with ONDC, provide training, set up product listings and register for GST. The effort covered 22 districts, from Bengaluru and Mysuru to Hubballi, Channapatna, Belgaum and Udupi. Women in rural and urban areas now have access to a deep e‑commerce market that was once out of reach.

“India’s digital marketplace is set to overtake the United States by 2034, but many small‑ and medium‑sized sellers still lack online skills,” said Jyoti Sharma, CEO of the Nasscom Foundation. “This partnership bridges the digital divide, gives women a level playing field and opens new lifelong opportunities for growth.”

ONDC’s Acting CEO Vibhor Jain highlighted the support’s wider impact. “By offering the right tools, training and market connections, we are equipping women to thrive online. It’s a real transformation that lifts entire communities and fuels the economy.”

The initiative focuses on sustainable industries such as handicrafts, handloom and other local manufacturing. Participants get on‑ground help with cataloguing, marketing and financial skills, plus regular check‑ins to solve problems and maintain quality.

By helping women build digital confidence, the program tackles three key challenges: limited market access, weak financial and e‑commerce know‑how, and a lack of previous online selling experience. The result? Stronger business growth, higher incomes and a wider reach for products that were once sold only through local markets.

Industry observers say programs like this are essential as India’s e‑commerce sector continues to surge. With more women joining ONDC, they will not only compete in the modern marketplace but also create jobs and inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs.
