India’s CEOs Are Bullish on the Country’s Global Rise, Survey Shows
New Delhi, Sep 12: A fresh survey reveals that Indian business leaders are super optimistic about the nation’s future on the world stage. Over 93% of CEOs think the government has done a stellar job in boosting India’s global presence, while 92% feel the country’s positioning worldwide is rock-solid.
The survey, conducted by the Public Relations Consultants Association of India (PRCAI) along with Astrum Advisory, polled 123 CEOs from six major cities. It shows 89% of these leaders are confident in India’s growth story. Interestingly, 54% believe India uses strategic communications very effectively to shape its global image.
CEOs are even more upbeat about what’s ahead—84% say India’s best days are yet to come. The report stresses that reputation acts as the ultimate currency for India’s economic progress and global leadership.
When asked about key drivers for India’s global leadership, CEOs pointed to climate readiness, geopolitical positioning, digital innovation, and human capital as the biggest levers. They also highlighted communication and reputation management as crucial tools to turn these strengths into real global influence.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is making smart strategic moves, the survey notes. However, CEOs warn that challenges like policy unpredictability, risks from AI, and gaps in perceptions around civic and environmental issues could shake global confidence if not tackled head-on.
Former Cabinet Minister Smriti Irani shared her thoughts on the matter. "Reputation in public life isn’t built on speeches or photo ops—it’s earned through real delivery," she said. "Think of a child getting to school well-nourished, a woman finding safety and economic freedom, or a family experiencing fair governance. These moments build trust, and that trust defines India’s credibility worldwide."
Irani put women at the heart of India’s reputation-building efforts. She noted how their leadership in politics, business, and culture showcases resilience, ambition, and inclusivity. She also talked about "Brand India" evolving: "Brands don’t fail because they don’t succeed—they fail because they don’t adapt."
Kunal Kishore, President of PRCAI, added, "Reputation isn’t just about communication anymore; it’s a full-on strategy. It builds trust in boardrooms, credibility in markets, and real influence on the global stage."
