New Delhi – India’s top agricultural cooperatives are stepping onto the world stage at the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2025, signaling a fresh push to raise the country’s rice exports.
Three leading bodies—National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), National Cooperative Organics Limited (NCOL), and Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO) Agri Business—will showcase their sustainable and high‑quality rice products. The move comes as the world celebrates the International Year of Cooperatives, spotlighting inclusive and eco‑friendly growth in farming.
Prem Garg, head of the Indian Rice Exporters Federation (IREF) and chairman of Shri Lal Mahal Group, welcomed the cooperatives. “BIRC is the perfect arena for India’s rice sector to show its innovation and farmer‑first mindset,” he said. “We’re ready to redefine quality and sustainability on the global stage.”
BIRC will host the biggest gathering of the global rice community yet. Over 5,000 farmers, cooperative members, and 1,000+ buyers from 80+ countries are expected. Leaders from policy, tech, logistics, and retail will share insights and build new trade links.
The event shines a light on cutting‑edge agri‑tech. A dedicated pavilion will feature drone‑based crop monitoring, precision farming tools, and automation for post‑harvest handling. A farmers’ showcase will highlight women‑led startups transforming the rice chain, while a food‑processing pavilion will display advances in milling, fortification, packaging, and cold‑chain logistics.
India’s roadmap for 2047—Viksit Bharat—highlights resilience and value‑driven exports. BIRC 2025 aligns with that vision, aiming to strengthen India’s role in the global rice trade and promote farmer empowerment, startup growth, and women leadership.
In short, the conference signals a clear message: India’s future in agriculture relies on collaboration, innovation, and shared prosperity. The country is ready to show that it can deliver high‑quality, sustainable rice to markets around the world.
