Warburg Pincus, the U.S.‑based private‑equity firm, is set to buy German aerospace and electronics company PSI for more than 700 million euros (around $750 million). The deal, expected to close by July 31 , 2024, will give PSI new capital and expertise to grow its business.
PSI supplies parts and services for the aerospace, defense, automotive and industrial sectors. Key customers include Airbus, Daimler, Mahindra, and Airbus Defence and Space. The company’s chief executive, Dr. Marc Zarebaum, said the purchase will help PSI bolster its research and technology projects.
Warburg Pincus plans to invest an additional €250 million in PSI, focusing on research and development and expanding into new markets. The partnership aims to create more jobs and strengthen PSI’s position in Europe’s competitive aerospace and defense arena.
The move reflects Warburg Pincus’s strategy to invest in industrial firms with growth potential. By combining PSI’s strong customer base with the investor’s resources, the company hopes to rise as a leading European supplier for airlines, car makers and defense contractors.
