Trump demands apology after ‘60 Minutes’ interviews ‘Traitor’ MTG, swipes at new CBS leadership

President Trump blasted “60 Minutes” after the show ran a segment about the controversial Hunter Biden laptop, demanding a full apology for what he called misleading coverage. He also took a swipe at outgoing Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene following her fierce exchange with CBS journalist Lesley Stahl, where Greene alleged that fellow GOP members whisper criticism of Trump behind his back. Trump called her a “traitor” in a fiery Truth Social rant.

In a Monday morning post, Trump quipped that Marjorie – dubbed “Traitor” – turned “Brown” under pressure, suggesting her change of heart was simply the result of getting “jilted” by the President—a fate she’s claimed to have faced before.

The interview aired a few weeks after Greene announced her resignation from Congress. The Georgia lawmaker, once a staunch Trump supporter, had recently called out the president over the release of the Epstein files and voiced support for extending Affordable Care Act subsidies.

In the “60 Minutes” interview, Greene accused Republicans of muttering negative comments about Trump when he wasn’t around. “It would shock people to learn how GOPers talk about the president out of his earshot,” she said. Lesley Stahl encouraged her to reveal the truth.

“I watched many of my colleagues go from mocking him and laughing at his manner of speaking, to finally—yes, I’ll be blunt—kissing his ass when he won the 2024 primary,” Greene explained. She added that once the president’s power peaked, they all donned a MAGA hat.

Greene argued that the fear of being targeted by Trump keeps Republicans silent, fearing a “nasty Truth Social post.” Trump, in turn, released a lengthy post on the platform, labelling Greene an “unofficial Rotten Apple” and claiming her ideas are now “really bad.”

He also accused her of not being truly “AMERICA FIRST” or MAGA, noting her rapid shift in views. Trump spared none of the critics, including Lesley Stahl, “60 Minutes,” and CBS parent company Paramount—reminding that in October Paramount had paid him $16 million in a lawsuit settlement over a manipulated interview with Vice President Kamala Hassan in the 2024 campaign.

“I’ve been asked to demand a total apology,” Trump wrote, “though it’s perhaps too late to be meaningful,” from Lesley Stahl and “60 Minutes” for their false statements about the Hunter Biden laptop. He noted Stahl’s 2020 interview with Trump stating the Biden emails “can’t be verified,” a claim that had followed the post’s initial release.

Greene later responded on X, declaring herself “AMERICA FIRST” and posting images that hinted she received no campaign cash from AIPAC, while highlighting Trump’s supposed $230 million in the same organization’s coffers.

“Thank you for your attention to this matter. -MTG,” she wrote, mimicking Trump’s familiar social‑media sign‑off.

Trump had previously returned to the program, bragging about the eight‑figure settlement with Paramount, but edits cut his comments from the broadcast.
