Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasises on need for better integration and standardised system for Indian Army

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh called for stronger integration among India’s armed forces during a key seminar in New Delhi on Tuesday. He stressed the urgent need for a standardized system to help the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy tackle rising threats like cyberattacks and information warfare.

Speaking at the Tri-Services Seminar, Singh promised full backing from the Ministry of Defence to build this unified setup. “Our armed forces have built solid audit systems through years of experience,” he said. “But in today’s world of integrated operations, these systems must connect seamlessly. Working alone could hurt quick decision-making, while integration boosts military confidence.”

Singh highlighted how modern security challenges demand quick responses. “We face constant cyberattacks and information warfare,” he noted. “We need clear standards for these threats. Standardization doesn’t erase the unique identity of each service—it’s about coordinating the Army, Air Force, and Navy effectively.”

He urged ongoing dialogues to create a modern, capable system tailored for all branches. “Leadership plays a huge role here,” Singh explained. “They must explain why these reforms matter at every step. Once every service and member gets the value of jointness, we’ll succeed. We can draw lessons from other countries, but our solutions must fit India’s specific needs.”

Praising the Indian armed forces for their push toward operational readiness, Singh pointed to the next big goal: nationwide tri-services logistics integration. He envisioned a shared digital backbone that respects each service’s unique demands while offering real-time visibility into critical supplies. Work on this has already started, he added.

Drawing on cultural inspiration, Singh referenced Goddess Durga as a symbol of unity’s power. “When challenges grow massive, combined strength becomes unbeatable,” he said. “The Army, Air Force, and Navy are all advancing readiness. Now, let’s commit to jointness together. Only by uniting and growing as one can we meet security threats head-on.”
