The incident happened when the actor was preparing to travel to Kolkata. He had the gun back in the cupboard when it went off, causing a serious injury that required an hour‑long surgery in the ICU. Govinda was discharged three days later, where he greeted fans and the press with folded hands.
Speaking to the press after the injury, Govinda explained, “I was about to leave for a show in Kolkata. It was around 5 a.m. The gun fell and went off. I was shocked, saw blood everywhere, made a video, talked to a doctor and got admitted.”
Govinda remains in hospital care under close supervision, with doctors monitoring his condition. The beloved Bollywood star’s health has drawn concern from fans and industry colleagues alike.
