Ashneer Grover, the sharp-tongued entrepreneur from Shark Tank India and current host of the reality show Rise & Fall, just got a tempting invite to shake things up on Bigg Boss 19. The offer? Step in as a wildcard contestant on the Salman Khan-hosted hit.
On Friday, Grover posted a screenshot of an email from the Bigg Boss team on his Instagram Stories. It came from Rohit Gupta, the show’s senior casting coordinator for season 19. In the message, they rave about Grover’s “dynamic personality” and strong social media game, saying he’d bring fresh energy to the house mid-season and amp up the drama and entertainment that fans love.
Grover didn’t say if he’ll take the deal, but he shared the email with a cheeky caption in Hindi: “Haha! Salman bhai se pooch le !! Mai to free ho jaaunga tab tak. Ye ‘mail merge’ kisi ki to naukri khayega.” That translates to something like, “Haha! Ask Salman bhai! I’ll be free by then. This ‘mail merge’ is going to cost someone their job.” He’s hinting he’ll wrap up his Rise & Fall hosting gig in time for a potential Bigg Boss stint—and poking fun at what looks like a mass-sent email.
This isn’t the first time Grover and Salman Khan have crossed paths with some fireworks. Back on a Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 18, Grover showed up as a guest. Salman grilled him over old podcast comments where Grover said he got turned down for a photo with the star and even haggled Salman’s brand endorsement fee down from 7.5 crore rupees to 4.5 crore for Grover’s company, BharatPe. Salman pushed back, claiming he didn’t even recall meeting him. Grover fired back, calling it “unnecessary drama” and insisting his stories got a bit overhyped but weren’t meant to disrespect anyone.
Fans are buzzing about whether Grover will jump into the Bigg Boss house and stir the pot alongside Salman Khan. With his no-nonsense style from Shark Tank India, it could make for must-watch TV.
