Mumbai: Actress and singer Saba Azad is thrilled about the entertainment industry’s big shift toward more inclusive and gender-sensitive stories. She sees real progress for women in films and OTT platforms, and she’s excited to be part of it.
In a chat with , Saba shared her positive vibes on how things are evolving. "I think things are changing for the better, and I’m happy to be a part of the change," she said. She pointed out that decision-makers now recognize women as a huge chunk of the audience. "They’re finally telling stories that matter to us. We still have a long way to go, but it’s a great start."
Saba, famous for her bold acting and music choices, recently grabbed attention with her film Bandar (Monkey In A Cage). It premiered in the Special Presentations section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The movie dives deep into themes of power, trauma, and memory, following a superstar accused of rape and exposing flaws in the legal system.

Before that, Saba shone in Songs of Paradise, a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Kashmiri singer Raj Begum.
