The updated tax structure slashed GST rates on two-wheelers, dropping bike prices and sparking a rush of buyers eager for more affordable rides.
Local dealers report a clear win for customers: motorcycles that once cost Rs 1.20 lakh now sell for about Rs 1.11 lakh. This price cut has fired up shoppers, with many thanking the government for making two-wheelers easier to afford.
Himanshu Singh Thakur, a happy customer at one showroom, shared his thoughts. “I’m so grateful for the GST reduction—it’s a game-changer for middle-class families like mine,” he said. “Now, more people can upgrade their bikes without breaking the bank.”
Sunil Agrawal, manager at Saraswati Motors in Kawardha, couldn’t hide his enthusiasm. “The response has been incredible since the GST cut,” he told reporters. “Farmers who held back before due to tight budgets are now stepping up to buy. We usually see just 3 or 4 customers a day, but yesterday we had 25!”
Agrawal pointed to the new 18% GST rate on motorcycles as the key driver behind this surge in two-wheeler sales. Dealers like him expect the momentum to keep building, boosting the local economy and putting smiles on riders’ faces across Chhattisgarh.
