Director Sasi Teams Up with Vijay Antony Again for Heartwarming ‘Nooru Saami’

In an exclusive chat with , Sasi spilled the beans on the film’s inspiration. He revealed that ‘Nooru Saami’ draws from real-life events, much like his blockbuster ‘Pichaikkaran’. That 2016 film, also starring Vijay Antony, became a massive success and a cult favorite across Tamil Nadu and beyond. It told the touching story of a rich businessman who turns beggar for 48 days to fulfill a vow and save his mother’s life. Fans loved how it blended emotion with real incidents, and now Sasi is set to deliver more of that magic.
The title ‘Nooru Saami’ (meaning Hundred Gods) actually nods to a super popular song from ‘Pichaikkaran’, adding a fun callback for fans. But don’t worry—Sasi cleared up the rumors right away. When asked if this is a sequel or continuation, he said no. "The stories are completely different," he explained. "They don’t connect at all."
Sasi first announced this collaboration with Vijay Antony at the trailer launch of Leo John Paul’s ‘Maargan’. He shared some nostalgic vibes, recalling their journey together. Back in 2006, Vijay Antony composed music for Sasi’s ‘Dishyum’. Then in 2016, he stepped into the lead for ‘Pichaikkaran’. "Now, we’re reuniting for this special film," Sasi said with a smile.
