S. Ramadoss claims ‘legal victory’ in PMK leadership row, says Anbumani not party president

Chennai, Dec 7 (LatestNewsX) – In a win he says, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss announced on Sunday that the Delhi High Court has ruled in his favour, declaring that his son, Anbumani Ramadoss, does not hold the legal title of party president.

S. Ramadoss vowed to “retrieve” the party and continue serving the people.

He added that the court made clear the Election Commission of India (ECI) lacks the authority to appoint Anbumani as PMK chief, reinforcing that Anbumani is not the president. The ruling also noted that the PMK currently lacks official recognition.

According to the founder, the court stated that because the party is not recognized now, it could pursue further legal remedy if necessary in the future.

S. Ramadoss accused Anbumani of submitting forged documents to the ECI, claiming his presidency ran from 2023 to 2026. “The attempt to snatch away the party through fraudulent means has now been defeated,” the PMK founder said.

Recounting his 46‑year journey, he explained that he has visited about 96,000 villages to build the party from the ground up, and that his efforts helped Anbumani become a Union Minister and paved the way for others to become ministers, MPs, MLAs and local representatives. “No one can separate me from the party, its cadres or the people of this nation,” he asserted.

He also announced that he would take all necessary legal and political steps to restore the PMK’s official recognition before the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Meanwhile, PMK Honourary President G.K. Mani has lodged a complaint with the Delhi Police, alleging that Anbumani submitted forged documents to the ECI regarding the leadership dispute.

In a separate appeal, S. Ramadoss urged the Tamil Nadu government to promptly pay nine months of overdue salaries to daily‑wage, non‑teaching staff in government colleges, describing it as a matter of social justice and administrative duty.

These new developments are likely to further inflame the already bitter father‑son power struggle that has fractured the PMK’s leadership and supporter base across the state.
