Ahmedabad – The Gujarat Cabinet congratulated Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday for unveiling two major agricultural relief packages aimed at helping farmers recover from recent unseasonal rains. The state announced a Rs 947 crore fund and a later Rs 10 billion package, boosting total support to Rs 11 137 crore with an extra Rs 190 crore. The move was praised as “sensitive and generous”, a direct thank‑you to Gujarat’s farmers by the Cabinet.
Gujarat also earned a high spot in the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti’s Sixth National Water Awards, clinching second place in the Water Conservation category. The awards round‑up saw Banas Dairy take first in the Civil Society category, IIT Gandhinagar win the Inside Campus award, and Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation rank second among Urban Local Bodies. The Cabinet passed a resolution thanking all winners and supporters for the state’s national recognition.
In a separate decision, CM Patel ordered ministers to reserve Mondays and Tuesdays for listening to public grievances and representatives, barring urgent emergencies. Ministers will stay in their offices all day to address citizens’ concerns and avoid other meetings. He also directed in‑charge ministers to visit their districts, hold review sessions with local administrations, and monitor flagship projects. Road officials must inspect road conditions by November 30, submit detailed reports, and ensure no compromise on quality. The CM emphasized strict action if substandard work is found, underscoring a zero‑tolerance stance on accountability.
