President Droupadi Murmu opened the new Yashoda Medicity in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The ceremony marked a major boost for India’s growing health‑care network.
Murmu said that healthy citizens are the foundation of a strong country. “Healthcare is a key part of nation‑building,” she said. She urged the government and private companies to keep people’s health a top priority.
The President highlighted that India is steadily expanding health‑care infrastructure so every citizen can access quality care. She praised the role of private hospitals in meeting national health goals and expressed confidence that Yashoda Medicity will become a model of affordable, world‑class services.
During her remarks, Murmu recapped how Yashoda Hospital helped treat many patients during the COVID‑19 pandemic and supported the National TB Elimination Programme. She called on the new campus to join national campaigns against sickle cell anaemia and to push forward cancer research through collaborations with other institutions.
“The hospital’s mission to provide affordable, quality care reflects a strong social responsibility,” she added. Murmu closed by saying that cooperation between the public and private sectors will keep India’s reputation as a global health‑care destination growing.
